About Shaunta's House

Shaunta Monica Murff was a vibrant, God-fearing young woman whose life was defined by her unwavering dedication to helping others. From organizing trips to the Greater Food Depository to handing out food to those on the streets in winter and hosting annual Christmas dinners for women at a battered women’s shelter, Shaunta lived a life of service and compassion. Often heard saying, "I’m here for the underdog," Shaunta believed in supporting anyone in need and dreamed of one day opening a homeless shelter. Although she left us in 2021, her light and legacy continue to shine through Shaunta’s House, a non-profit founded in her honor.

At Shaunta’s House, we are committed to carrying forward her vision by providing essential care, support, and dignity to those experiencing homelessness, poverty, and other challenges. Shaunta’s House is dedicated to empowering the most vulnerable and creating a lasting impact in the community she loved. Together, we honor Shaunta’s legacy by uplifting others and helping them rebuild their lives with hope and compassion.

We believe that everyone deserves a chance to rise above their circumstances
